What I didn’t learn from my high school History class.

I used to do these pieces back on Xanga, when that site used to be the shit…actually, it still is in my book (www.xanga.com/flipnautick). Anyways, these “pieces” would be like a montage of short blurbs, quotes, photos, maybe a short little poem (not like fruity poems…think Allen Ginsberg). It’s early in the morning right now and I’m still hopped up on coffee, and I thought I should make my first post different from the others I’ve seen so far. Here we go bitches…

History 101

Nanking Genocide (The Rape Of Nanking)

Woman old and girls as young as 10 were used as “toys” to feed their sexual pleasure…Most woman were raped 10-15 times a day.

The Cambodian Genocide

They lined up outside the classroom to have their pictures taken; old, young, rich, poor…different classes, ages, expressions…same fate. The pictures were taken before the prisoners were slaughtered, making it one of the largest (in body count) genocide recorded in history.

Photograph taken by the late Dan Eldon (killed in Somalia in 1993):

it echoes in my mind like the gunshots of Iraq…Tell me, can a voice of one person ‘fire’ louder than a thousand rounds of AK-47s?”

When will history stay in the past?
